This web seminar took place on March 3, 2016, from 6:30 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. Eastern time. The presenters were Dalia Kirschbaum, NASA Research Scientist and Global Precipitation Measurement (GPM) Mission Applications Science Lead and Dorian Janney, GPM Mission Communications and Education Specialist.
In this web seminar Kirschbaum and Janney provided a robust understanding on the science behind Earth’s water cycle, while also demonstrating multiple possibilities for infusing water-related concepts into the curriculum. Kirschbaum led the web seminar by providing rich science background knowledge on the topic, and Janney complimented the information provided by demonstrating how to incorporate the information into engaging activities for students. Emphasis was placed on the GPM resource website. Overall, the seminar encouraged participants to explore the varied ways in which NASA studies our home planet’s water cycle, while providing resources for teaching this concept to their students.
