This web seminar took place on April 13, 2016, from 6:30 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. Eastern time. The presenters were Christa Peters-Lidard, Deputy Director for Hydrospheric and Biospheric Sciences in the Earth Sciences Division at NASA's Goddard Space Flight Center (GSFC), Eric Brown De Colstoun, Physical Scientist in the Biospheric Sciences Laboratory at NASA/GSFC, and Dorian Janney, GPM Mission Communications and Education Specialist.

Program abstract:
The Global Precipitation Measurement (GPM) is an international satellite mission (NASA and JAXA) to provide next-generation observations of rain and snow. The GPM mission will help advance our understanding of Earth's water and energy cycles, improve the forecasting of extreme events that cause natural disasters, and extend current capabilities of using satellite precipitation information to directly benefit society. In this program, mission scientists and education specialists talk about watersheds and related educational resources.
